Bangladesh's opener Tamim Iqbal, has been named Test Player of the Year by the Wisden Cricketer magazine.  Graeme Swann and Virender Sehwag, came second and third place.
For the duration of the period Tamim made 837 runs at 59.78 in seven Tests. He scored 151 against India at Dhaka in January. He also made a century at Lord's and Old Trafford against England inMay and June.

Tamim said the destructive batting of Sehwag was a motivation. He told. "Sehwag is one batsman who distorted the grammar of batting as far as Test openers are worried. After a certain point of time, I decided that I will play my usual, and I have been successful in my attempt. The award is considered by the marks out of 10 that the Wisden Cricketer's reporters give every player at each Test and is the next succeeding time a Bangladesh player has won the award following Shakib Al Hasan.

Tamim is currently selected vice captain for Bangladesh cricket team for the up coming world cup.
